The Secretariat is proud to welcome all future delegates to the commencement of BelMUN! It is our mission to create a conference focused on the substance of Model United Nations (MUN): diplomacy education, debate, time management and overcoming challenges. This conference will not focus on cooperation or advanced debating skills. Instead, it is our mission to have an accurate replication of the diplomacy. With understanding the real difficulties of conflict and resolution will come solutions - if not at a small conference of young people with a passion for debate, by some well-intended people who understand the same concepts. BelMUN will provide three committees. The first two committees, DISEC and WHO which are part of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) provide students with a specific area to research and the idealism and intimidation that comes with the real GA format of having all countries with an equal vote. Meanwhile, more committed delegates may choose to apply for the UN Security Council (UNSC) with a more complex format and power dynamics. In any case, delegates can expect an intense conference.
