Model UN is an academic extracurricular that directly simulates a United Nations committee. A student is assigned a country, committee and topic. It's the students responsibility to research the topic and their countries stance on the topic. Model UN is not just an exercise in speaking and research; it teaches students the logic behind the many sides of an issue. Because students must portray their assigned member state as accurately as possible, they are provided with an in-depth look at why world problems and conflicts proliferate.
