Security Council
Similarly to the real UNSC, in BelMUN’s UNSC committee, 15 countries will come together to find solutions to the most prevalent issues of our time, and work to foster international peace, security, and prosperity. The size of the UNSC allows for more intimate connections to be made and for a higher quality of debate, and it is the only UN committee that can make binding decisions. However, with that being said, you should not be afraid of being too inexperienced to try out the UNSC! MUN is about challenging yourself and pushing a little outside of your comfort zone sometimes, and we implore you to do exactly that.

Assistant director: Gabby Macpherson
c
Gabby is a grade 10 student at Glenlyon Norfolk School and immensely appreciates the opportunity to act as chair of the United Nations Security Council. After having been forcibly dragged into a Model United Nations meeting in grade 8, she has spent the last two years attending as many conferences as humanly possible. Gabby is also an active participant in debate; when not discussing current events and international affairs, she plays competitive ultimate frisbee and skis. She is looking forward to meeting this year’s delegates and hopes that the conference will be successful!
